A Week in Little Rock

img_Jun_28_2009_16_48 You and Mommy spent last week in Little Rock. I had do go through a week of training for my new position at work. (For those of you who don't know, I will be teaching Senior World History next year!) I just couldn't leave you for that long since you are still nursing at night. (You are doing better, and we are very close to being weened(sp).) Daddy is taking summer classes and has to attend everyday, so we played musical babysitters all week. Mommy and you are so lucky to have people to help out in a crunch. Nana came with us Sunday to watch you Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. She had help on Wednesday, because Daddy came up after class for a visit and to pick Nana up to go home. Ma also came Wednesday to watch you on Thursday. We watched Nana and Daddy leave from the window. You waved so big and yelled "Dada". For the rest of the evening you would go back to the window look out and yell "Dada". It was too precious. Since Ma had to leave Friday to go see Jace and Jerod, Uncle Bo and Aunt Belinda came up on Thursday to keep you Friday. With all this changing and being in a hotel all week, you were still a wonderful little girl. You did so well being away from home. You slept through the nights except for one night, but I think that was your fifth tooth braking through causing the problem. When I got out of class everyday, we tried to get out. We went to the mall, to dinner, and to the pool almost every night. We were at dinner one evening with Nana, and you thought you saw your daddy, so you proceeded to yell for him, but the guy didn't come to you. You looked at me so confused and kept repeating "dada, dada". I tried to explain, but your eyes told me you weren't for sure about all this. You were not for sure about the pool on the first night either, but after staying a while and seeing it was fun to splash Mommy and Nana you decided loved it. You were jumping to Mommy from the steps and off the side. I was so happy when you started enjoying the water. You loved it so much that you screamed and cried when it was time to go. While Daddy was there on Wednesday, he took to the Build-A-Bear Workshop at the mall. You guys helped put Fluffy the Panda together and dressed him in a great Razorback T-shirt and blue jeans. You were very excited to show me when I came in that afternoon. Ma took you to play and shopping when she was there, and Uncle Bo and Aunt Belinda took you shopping, too. They got to see your love for shoes first hand. You decided that you don't like oatmeal cereal anymore, so you have started having all kinds of different things for breakfast. You had yogurt, dry cereal, blueberry muffins, pancakes, and bananas. Of course when we went out for dinner, you had to have a grilled cheese. This is your food of choice now. You also tried a tomato and liked it. Did not get that from your Mommy. You were so worn out on Friday that you slept almost the entire way home in the car. You were very excited to get home, and so was Mommy. Thanks guys for helping me out this week. I appreciate it so much and love you all.

Happy's Father's Day, Daddy!

img_Jun_28_2009_57_11 I know this post is a little late, but Teralee and I have been in Little Rock for the past week without my computer. Better late than never! We both want to say Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy and husband. It is so amazing to see the bond between you and Teralee grow each day, Gary. You are so wonderful with her, and it shows in the way she looks at you each day. She missed you very much this last week. We love you very much! Happy Father's Day to Pops, PaDee, and all the other dads that make us feel so special!

Diamond Mine and Diamond Springs

img_Jun_21_2009_17_13 Aunt Kinzy, Gavin, and Gage met us at the Murfreesboro Diamond Mine on Thursday to visit before they leave for Florida and we leave for Little Rock. You thought you were in rock heaven. We dug in the mine for just a little bit because it was so hot. You loved it though. Everywhere you turned you found a rock you wanted. We ended bringing a couple home, but unfortunately we didn't find a diamond. Maybe next time. We had lunch at the Kimberlite Cafe there at the park. You ate a whole grilled cheese sandwich. All that digging made you hungry. After lunch, we went in Diamond Springs which is the small but very kid friendly water park by the mine. You were not too sure about the water. You were too precious in your swimsuit, but you didn't want to put it to good use. You would fuss when we tried to get you in the pool. You did laugh a couple of times in the water, but you would then start fussing again. I guess you just need some time to get used to it. We had a wonderful afternoon though. I have to add that this was the first time mommy has had to put a swimsuit on anyone else besides herself. The first try it was put on backwards, the second try the straps that were supposed to cross in back crossed in the front, and the third time mommy finally got it right. I guess the third time was the charm, and it would have helped if Mommy could have stopped laughing at herself. It is hard enough to put a swimsuit on sweaty me, but to put one on some else that is hot and sweaty was definitely a challenge. Thank you, angel, for being so patient with Mommy. (Those of you with only boys should try this task just once.) You were so exhausted after attending VBS that morning and going to the park that afternoon that you feel asleep almost immediatly after getting in your car seat. Thanks guys for making the trip and be safe and have fun in Florida.

My first Vacation Bible School

img_Jun_21_2009_01_07 You attented your first VBS this past week. You are still a little young to go, but Mommy taught the 5th and 6th grade class so you stayed with the 2 and 3 year old class. You had a great time and did pretty good going to class most of the week. You didn't want to go at all Thursday so you got to help mommy teach her class until Daddy came to get you. You really liked break time because you got cookies. Mommy was so proud of you for being such a big girl. Thanks to Mrs. Kim and Ms. Emily for taking such good care of you in class. Thanks also to everyone that helped. VBS was such a wonderful week with all the decorations, activities, and sharing God's word with so many young people.

Cousins stop by

Kylie and Katlin stopped by today to play. We were very excited that they came. It has been too long since you guys have got to play together. You three had so much fun. Katlin enjoyed the sand and Kylie enjoyed the water in the table outside. You also played with them. You also gave Katlin a ride on your train. You did pretty good sharing your toys, but I can see that it could possibly become a struggle. You were a very sweet girl while they visited. We can't wait to get together again sooner than later, guys! Thanks for coming up!

Playing with Brady, Kaden, and Baylee

Brady, Kaden, Baylee, and Mandy came to visit and play on Tuesday. You had such a big time. We rarely get this treat because everyone is always so busy during school. We played inside and outside. You couldn't get enough of Brady as always. You have favored him since you were very little. I think you know he is a big brother ;)! I hope we can get together and play again soon.

Scooter's Water Bowl

Scooter's water bowl has been a source of trouble for you for some time now. This is the main reason you get put in time out. You like to play in it, pour it out, and put your shoes in it. We try to keep you away, but you insist on getting to it. Well, tonight you really got to it. Mommy was doing laundry so the clothes basket was in the hall. You were dragging it through the hall to the kitchen backing up the whole time. When you reached the kitchen going backwards, you got tripped up, fell back, and landed perfectly in Scooter's water bowl. You were scared from the fall and the wetness on your rear end so you began to cry. Mommy and Daddy couldn't help but laugh even though you didn't think the situation was too funny. I didn't get a picture of the event because you were too upset, but you didn't get the water bowl for the rest of the night.

Mounts Twins' Birthday Party

You were invited to Carlee and Kalee's birthday party Saturday. I just had to make a post about it because you had so much fun. It was too precious watching you play with the other kids. Sydney, Jaycee, and Jancy were there from Mrs. Jamie's so you felt right at home. Halle, the twins oldest sister, took care of you almost the entire party. She carried you everywhere, pushed you in a push car, let you swing, and helped you find rocks because she likes rocks, too. You also ate a cupcake. Daddy and Mommy couldn't believe that you ate it. You haven't liked cake with icing at all, but you devoured this one. You had icing and cake all over you and me. So glad you had such a great time, angel!
If you want to see pics of the party, you can go to the Mounts Family blog on my blog roll. I am sure they will have lots.
